Wilhelm <br />District Court Judge <br />Commissioners Honeycutt, Mynatt and Shue expressed appreciation to their <br />families as well as the voters for their support. <br />Closing Comments by Chairman Poole <br />Chairman Poole thanked the audience for attending the reception and <br />swearing -in ceremony. She invited the audience to attend the organizational <br />meeting and agenda work session in the Commissioners' Meeting Room. <br />Organizational Meeting - Call to Order <br />Chairman Poole called the organizational meeting to order at 6:21 p.m. <br />Presentation of Colors <br />The Honor Guard from the Cabarrus County sheriff's Department presented <br />the colors. Deputies participating in the ceremony were: Sergeant Michael <br />Freeze, Officer Michael Elliott, Officer Jon Page and Officer Jason Yount. <br />Invocation <br />Senior Pastor Andy Langford from Central United Methodist Church in <br />Concord, delivered the invocation. <br />Board Organization <br />Chairman Poole turned the meeting over to Mike Downs, County Manager, <br />who presided over the organization of the Board. <br />Election of Chairman <br />Mike Downs, County Manager, called for nominations for the position of <br />Chairman. <br />Commissioner Poole nominated Commissioner Morris. <br />Mr. Downs called for further nominations and hearing none, closed <br />nominations. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to close nominations and elected <br />Commissioner Morris as Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />by acclamation. <br />Election of V ice Chairman <br />The County Manager turned the meeting over to Chairman Morris. <br />Chairman Morris called for nominations for the position of Vice <br />Chairman. <br />Commissioner Mynatt nominated Commissioner Poole. <br />Chairman Morris called for further nominations and hearing none, closed <br />nominations. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Commissioner Honeycutt <br />and unanimously carried, the board voted to close nominations and elected <br />Commissioner Poole as Vice Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners by acclamation. <br />Approval of Public Officials Bond - Sheriff <br />
