I keep hearing conflicting <br />stories from the Department of Social Services. I would like to <br />have that answer in writing please. Thank you. Oh, just for the <br />record, I may sue the Department of Social Services. This is the <br />reason why I came up here to tell you. <br />With there being no one else to address the Board, Chairman Poole <br />closed that portion of the meeting. <br />(E) OLD BUSINESS <br />None. <br />(F) CONSENT AGENDA <br />Chairman Poole announced Item F -8, LSTA EZ Collaboration and Innovation <br />Grant Application, is a 4- county community read featuring `Mr. Penumbra's 24- <br />Hour Bookstore" by Robin Sloan in spring 2014. <br />Vice Chairman White highlighted the success of the last community read <br />and advised that the upcoming community read is in the planning stages for <br />spring 2014. He also noted Item F -1 - Cabarrus Rotary Disc Golf Course, <br />stating the Cabarrus Rotary Club is planning to build a Disc Golf Course at <br />Frank Liske Park. <br />(F -1) Active Living and Parks - Cabarrus Rotary Disc Golf Course - Frank <br />T.i clrm Dmrlr <br />The Cabarrus Rotary Club approached the Active Living and Parks <br />Department with a proposal of purchasing and installing an 18 hole disc golf <br />course at Frank Liske Park. A committee comprised of Rotary, Active Living <br />and Parks (ALP) and General Service's staff worked with INNOVA Disc Golf <br />Company in Rock Hill, SC on the design and layout. The updated proposal was <br />presented to the ALP's Commission at their January 17th meeting. The <br />Commission voted unanimously to recommend this project to the Board of <br />Commissioners. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Measmer <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Cabarrus Rotary Club to <br />purchase and install a disc golf course at Frank Liske Park. <br />(F -2) Finance - ADRC Grant Budget Amendment - $109,952.00 <br />This budget amendment reduces the budget for the Aging Disability <br />Resource Connection Grant (ADRC). We have been informed that the County will <br />not receive any further funding for this grant. This loo is <br />withheld from the gross occupancy tax prior to submission to the CVB. Out of <br />the 10% withholding, 5% is placed in the Capital Reserve Fund and is to be <br />used for future facility /field expansion and improvements for the Active <br />Living and Parks Department. The remaining 5% will be used for visitor <br />related events and is included in the Cabarrus Arena and Events Center's <br />Annual Budget. The enclosed budget amendment increases the budget for the <br />collection of the 5% capital reserve portion of funds to incorporate the past <br />
