June 17, 2013 (Regular Meeting) Page 1581 <br />(F -7) General Services - Solid Waste Division - Scrap Tire Disposal Contract <br />with US Tire Recycling <br />Pursuant to NCGS 130 -A- 309.58, Cabarrus County is required to dispose <br />of used /scrap tires at a state - approved disposal facility. US Tire <br />Recycling, located in Cabarrus County, meets the requirements as set out by <br />state regulations. The Solid Waste Department requests that US Tire <br />Recycling continue to be designated as the county disposal facility for <br />used /scrap tires and that the Board of Commissioners approve the renewal of <br />the three (3) year contract in the amount up to $615,000.00. This service is <br />funded through a revenue distribution from the State Scrap Tire Tax Program <br />and is included in the FY 2013 -2014 budget. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman White, seconded by Commissioner Burrage <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the designation of US Tire <br />Recycling as the county disposal facility for used /scrap tires; including the <br />renewal of the 3 -year contract between Cabarrus County and US Tire Recycling <br />for an amount up to $615,000.00, subject to budget approval for FY 2014, 2015 <br />and 2016; and authorized the County Manager to execute the contract on behalf <br />of the County, subject to review and /or revision by the County Attorney. <br />(F -8) Human Services - Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) Funding <br />Plan <br />The FY14 Home and Community Care Block Grant Funding Plan is being <br />submitted for approval. The funding for the FY14 HCCBG Funding Plan has been <br />reviewed and approved by the HCCBG committee and it requires approval by the <br />Board of Commissioners.
