August 5, 2013 (Work Session) <br />Page 1641 <br />The Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District (CSWCD) and <br />Mogensen Mitigation Inc. (MMI) have an agreement whereby CSWCD <br />will identify potential sites for stream restoration and wetland <br />mitigation projects, provide technical assistance and hold <br />conservation easements associated with completed projects. On <br />May 20, 2013, the Board of Commissioners approved the agreement <br />for a restoration project on Back Creek,; following that <br />approval, MMI prepared an option to purchase a conservation <br />easement as the next step in this restoration project. This <br />agreement went before the Board of Education on June 10, 2013. <br />Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager, advised a resolution has been <br />drafted by the County's bond counsel. <br />Sheriff - Approval of Bid from Hilbish Motor Company for 2014 Ford Police <br />Interceptor Vehicles - $367,185.00 <br />Chief Deputy Paul Hunt, presented the following information relating to <br />a request for approval of a bid from Hilbish Motor Company for 2014 Ford <br />Police Interceptor vehicles: <br />The Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office budgeted $390,000.00 for 15 <br />police vehicles for FY 2014. The RFB (Request for Bids) was <br />advertised for 2014 Ford Police Interceptor Vehicles. There were <br />two bids submitted. One bid was from Hilbish Motor Company in <br />Kannapolis, NC with a price per vehicle of $24,479.00. The other <br />bid was from Lum's Ford in Albemarle, NC with a price per vehicle <br />of $25,136.50. Using the lowest bid, the price for fifteen <br />police vehicles will be $367,185.00. <br />Chief Deputy Hunt also responded to questions from the Board. <br />Boards and Committees Advertisements <br />Mike Downs, County Manager, recommended promoting applications to the <br />Human Services Advisory Board prominently on the County website, as was <br />requested for the Charlotte Douglas International Airport Commission.
