<br />stake in the line of Bethel School, a new corner; thence two new lines
<br />as follows: lst S. 4 -08 W. 200.6 feet to an iron stake and 2 S. 63 -49
<br />E. (passing an iron stake near bank of the road at 398.0 feet) 428.0
<br />feet to an iron stake in the center of the county road; thence with

<br />LESS AND EXCEPTING from the parcels described above the property conveyed to

<br />Cabarrus County Registry.
<br />(E -2) Finance - Public Schools Salary Increase for FY 2013
<br />Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager, advised the FY 2013 State budget
<br />included a 1.2 percent salary increase for state - funded public school
<br />employees and that the Board expressed its desire to match the salary
<br />increase for locally- funded public school employees for both school systems.
<br />As such, two (2) budget amendments were prepared for consideration based on
<br />data provided from each school system. She advised the Commissioners'
<br />contingency funds will be used to cover this expense.
<br />Will Crabtree, Kannapolis City Schools, responded to questions from the
<br />Board relating to the difference between locally- funded positions and state -
<br />funded positions.
<br />A discussion ensued with Ms. Dubois and Mike Downs, County Manager,
<br />responding to questions from the Board related to the budget and use of
<br />contingency funds. Despite being empathetic to school employees, Vice
<br />Chairman Burrage expressed opposition to giving raises just because the State
<br />did. Data from the school systems is as follows:
