Mr. Downs advised staff <br />will contact the State and proceed with obtaining responses to issues <br />addressed. <br />General Comments <br />Commissioner Carruth announced Jerry Williamson, a long -time resident of <br />Kannapolis that frequently addressed the Board, passed away August 7 th <br />County Manager Downs introduced Ann Wilson, the new Finance Director <br />with major responsibilities of the budget and daily operations of the Finance <br />Department. He also introduced Andy Yoos, the new Risk Management Safety and <br />Risk Coordinator. <br />Closed Session - Threatened or Pending Litigation & To Consult with the County <br />Attorney to Preserve the Attorney - Client Privilege <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Vice Chairman Burrage and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session to discuss <br />threatened or pending litigation and to consult with the County Attorney to <br />preserve the attorney - client privilege as authorized by NCGS 143- 318.11(a)(3). <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />with Chairman Poole, Vice Chairman Burrage and Commissioner Carruth voting for <br />and Commissioner White absent, the Board moved to come out of closed session. <br />Adjourn <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Burrage, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />with Chairman Poole, Vice Chairman Burrage and Commissioner Carruth voting for <br />and Commissioner White absent, the meeting adjourned at 6:23 p.m. <br />Kay Hroneyc tt, le k to the Board <br />
