December 3, 2012 (Swearing -in Ceremony & Organizational Meeting) Page 1332 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met for an <br />Organizational Meeting in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Cabarrus <br />County Governmental Center in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, December 3, <br />2012, at 6:00 p.m. <br />Present - Chairman: <br />Commissioners: <br />Elizabeth F. Poole <br />Larry M. Burrage <br />Christopher A. Measmer <br />Stephen M. Morris <br />H. Jay White, Sr. <br />Also present were Mike Downs, County Manager; Richard M. Koch, County <br />Attorney; Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager; Pam Dubois, Deputy County <br />Manager and Megan Smit, Clerk to the Board. <br />Reception for Elected Officials <br />Prior to the organizational meeting, a reception for incoming and <br />outgoing elected officials and a public swearing -in ceremony were held in the <br />Rotunda of the Governmental Center at 5:00 p.m. <br />Chairman Poole welcomed those in attendance. Further, she reported the <br />food provided for the reception is from local producers /processors and from <br />local businesses. She also acknowledged culinary efforts of Executive Chef <br />Chad Muller, Cabarrus Arena & Events Center. <br />Administration of Oath to Office: Soil and Water Conservation District <br />Supervisors <br />The Honorable Martin B. McGee, District Court Judge, administered the <br />following Oath of Office to Robert Brown: <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br />SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS <br />NORTH CAROLINA ) OATH OF OFFICE FOR Robert Brown <br />CABARRUS SOIL AND WATER <br />CABARRUS COUNTY ) CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISOR <br />I, Robert Brown, do solemnly swear that I will support and maintain the <br />Constitution and laws of the United States, and the Constitution and laws of <br />North Carolina not inconsistent therewith, and that I will faithfully <br />discharge the duties of my office as Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation <br />District Supervisor, so help me God. <br />I, Robert Brown, do solemnly and sincerely swear that I will support <br />the Constitution of the United States; that I will be faithful and bear true <br />allegiance to the State of North Carolina, and to the constitutional powers <br />and authorities which are or may be established for the government thereof; <br />and that I will endeavor to support, maintain and defend the Constitution of <br />said State, not inconsistent with the Constitution of the United States, to <br />the best of my knowledge and ability; so help me God. <br />I, Robert Brown, do swear that I will well and truly execute the duties <br />of the office of Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor <br />according to the best of my skill and ability, according to law; so help me, <br />God. <br />Is/ Robert Brown <br />(Supervisor) <br />Subscribed and sworn to before me, this 3 rd day of December, 2012. <br />/s/ Judge Martin B.
