If awarded, <br />the grant will provide $100,000 of the needed funds. A match of $34,282 is <br />needed from the County. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Library Director to submit <br />the aforementioned grant application and execute any related documentation. <br />(F-3) Library - New Bylaws for Library Board of Trustees <br />At its January 21, 2010 meeting, the Library Board of Trustees <br />unanimously voted to recommend a new set of bylaws for themselves to the <br />Board of County Commissioners. The current bylaws for the Library Board of <br />Trustees were approved in 1984 by the Board of County Commissioners. At that <br />time the Concord Library was a department of the City of Concord and the <br />Kannapolis Library was under construction. The Mt. Pleasant Library and the <br />Harrisburg Library did not exist. The Library Board of Trustees wrote the <br />new bylaws to reflect the makeup of the current library system. These new <br />bylaws give the Trustees the power to formulate and adopt programs and <br />policies for the Library. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the new bylaws for the Library <br />Board of Trustees as follows: <br />BY LAWS <br />of <br />CABARRUS COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br />ARTICLE I: PURPOSE <br />The Board of Trustees of the Cabarrus County Public Library exists by virtue <br />of the provision of North Carolina General Statute 153A-265 through 153A-266 <br />and exercises the powers, authority, and assumes the responsibilities <br />delegated to it by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. <br />ARTICLE II: COMPOSITION, APPOINTMENT, TERM, REMOVAL <br />The Board of Trustees shall be composed of seven (7) members. All members <br />must be residents of Cabarrus County and shall be chosen from the populace <br />with reference to their qualifications for such office. <br />The members shall be appointed as follows: <br /># Area <br />1 Concord <br />1 Concord <br />2 Kannapolis <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />1 Appointing Body <br />City of Concord <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />Midland Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />
