He stated that after much <br />discussion and considering it is a short legislative session with limited <br />opportunity to get local bills passed, he recommended the Board adopt the <br />North Carolina Association of County Commissioners' 2010 Legislative Agenda. <br />Chairman White recommended the Board begin to work on the legislative <br />agenda in November or December in preparation for next year's long session. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mynatt, seconded by Vice Chairman Poole and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the North Carolina Association of <br />County Commissioners' Legislative Agenda as follows: <br />NCACC Legislative Goals <br />2009 -2010 <br />Priority Goal <br />• Revenue Options and Protection - Seek legislation to allow all counties <br />to enact by resolution or, at the option of the Board of Commissioners, <br />by voter referendum any or all revenue options from among those that <br />have been authorized for any other county, including local option sales <br />taxes, prepared food taxes, impact fees and real estate transfer taxes; <br />and to preserve the existing local revenue base. <br />Taxation and Finance <br />
