June 21, 2010 (Regular Meeting) Page 40 <br />Kelly Sifford, Community Development Manager, reported seven (7) full <br />house rehabilitations and six (6) urgent repairs were completed under the <br />2007 -2009 CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) Scattered Site Housing <br />Grant program. She stated $374,484.19 of grant funding was expended to <br />complete these projects. She also responded to questions from the Board. <br />Chairman White opened the public hearing at 7:17 p.m. The Public <br />Hearing Notice was published on June 9 and 11, 2010 in THE INDEPENDENT <br />TRIBUNE. The Public Hearing Notice was also posted on the County's website <br />( www.cabarruscounty.us ) on May 19, 2010 in accordance with Article 2, <br />Administration, Section 2.1 (Use of Electronic Means to Provide Public <br />Notices) of the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances. <br />There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman <br />White closed the public hearing.. <br />No further action was required of the Board. <br />(G -3) Commerce - Reservation of Capacity Certificate for the Forest Park <br />Crossing Apartment Project <br />Susie Morris, Planning and Zoning Manager, reviewed the following <br />information relating to a Reservation of Capacity Certificate for the Forest <br />Park Crossing apartment project: <br />Forest Park Crossing, LLC, (709 North Main Street, Aynor, SC <br />29511) is requesting a Reservation of Capacity for the Forest <br />Park Crossing Apartment project, which consists of 56 multi- <br />family units on +/- 11.16 acres located off Little Texas Road in <br />the City of Kannapolis, North Carolina. <br />School Capacity Review <br />The Forest Park Crossing multi - family project is expected to <br />produce approximately 8 elementary /intermediate students, 3 <br />middle school students and 4 high schools students for a total of <br />15 students. The schools impacted by the project are Forest Park <br />Elementary School, Kannapolis Intermediate School, Kannapolis <br />Middle School and A.L. Brown wing addition and vocational building renovations. <br />These improvements are expected to be completed by February 2011 <br />will add 500 seats to the core capacity of the school. <br />The following table indicates available and planned school <br />capacity, based on the standards for review established in <br />Chapter 15 of the Cabarrus County Zoning Ordinance. <br />
