(F -5) Transportation - Award of Bids for Rou tine_ Maintenance of C. C. T. S. <br />Vehicles <br />C.C.T.S. (Cabarrus County Transportation Service) distributed a Request <br />for Proposals (RFP) for routine maintenance of its fleet and advertised the <br />request pursuant to Cabarrus County policies including a local advertisement <br />in the newspaper. Sealed bids were received on May 17, 2010 for this <br />service. Three bids were received and two bids were considered <br />responsive /responsible. A site visit was made of each location to evaluate <br />resources needed to perform requested services. G -Max Automotive and <br />Xccessories (6300 NC Highway 49, Mount Pleasant NC 28124) has met all Federal <br />and State requirements to provide the maintenance component of the RFP with a <br />labor rate of $75.00 per hour. Grants Service LLC (P.O. Box 791, Jamestown, <br />NC 27282) has met all Federal and State requirements for ADA Lift Repair <br />Service with a Labor Rate of $65.00 per hour. G -Max Automotive and <br />Xccessories is recommended due to its closer proximity. <br />The bid advertisement was posted on the County's website <br />(www.ca barruscounty.us ) on April 29, 2010. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the bid awards for G -Max <br />Automotive and Xccessories and Grant Service, LLC as set forth in the agenda <br />and hereby incorporated into the meeting minutes by reference. By the same <br />vote, the Board authorized the County Manager to execute the contracts on <br />behalf of Cabarrus County, subject to review or revision by the County <br />Attorney. <br />(G) NEW BUSINESS <br />(G-1) Transportation - Rural Operating Assistance Prog (ROAP) Funding and <br />Public Hearing - 6:30 P.M. <br />Bob Bushey, Transportation Operations Manager, stated a Rural Operating <br />Assistance Program (ROAP) grant request of $245,632.00 will be submitted to <br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Public Transportation <br />Division.
