Measmer, do solemnly and sincerely swear that I will <br />be faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of North Carolina, and to <br />the constitutional powers and authorities which are or may be established for <br />the government thereof; and that I will endeavor to support, maintain, and <br />defend the Constitution of said State, not inconsistent with the Constitution <br />of the United States, to the best of my knowledge and ability; so help me, <br />God. <br />I, Christopher A. He invited the audience to attend the organizational <br />meeting and agenda work session in the Commissioners' Meeting Room. <br />Organizational Meeting - Call to Order <br />Chairman White called the organizational meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. <br />Presentation of Colors <br />The Honor Guard from the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department presented <br />the colors. Deputies participating in the ceremony were: Deputy Michael <br />Shanahan, Deputy Jason Long, Deputy Michael Freeze, Deputy Jason Yount and <br />Deputy Michael Elliot. <br />T-,,---+-4 -r. <br />Reverend Glenn L. Myers, Pastor from Epworth Methodist Church in <br />Concord, delivered the invocation. <br />Board Organization <br />Chairman White turned the meeting over to John Day, County Manager, who <br />presided over the organization of the Board. <br />Election of Chairman <br />John Day, County Manager, called for nominations for the position of <br />Chairman. <br />Commissioner Poole nominated Commissioner White. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Poole, seconded by Commissioner Burrage and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to close nominations and elected <br />Commissioner White as Chairman of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />by acclamation. <br />Election of Vice Chairman <br />The County Manager turned the meeting over to Chairman White who called <br />for nominations for the position of Vice Chairman. <br />Commissioner Carruth nominated Commissioner Poole. <br />Commissioner Measmer expressed an interest in being considered for a <br />leadership position in the future. <br />
