June 29, 2009 (Recessed - McEachern Greenway) Page 1470 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus attended the <br />grand opening of the McEachern Greenway Downtown Connector held at the <br />McEachern Greenway in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, June 29, 2009, at <br />5:00 p.m. <br />Present - Chairman: H. Jay White, Sr. <br />Vice Chairman: Grace M. Mynatt <br />Commissioners: Robert W. Carruth <br />Absent - Commissioners: Elizabeth F. Poole <br />Coy C. Privette <br />Also present were John Day, County Manager; Mike Downs, Deputy County <br />Manager; Pam Dubois, Deputy County Manager and Kay Honeycutt, Clerk to the <br />Board. Concord Mayor, Scott Padgett and several City Council members were <br />also present. <br />Grand Opening o£ the McEachern Greenway Downtown Connector <br />The grand opening celebration included the following: welcome and <br />introductions by Mayor Scott Padgett; an overview of the greenway by Bob <br />Dowless, Concord Parks and Recreation Director; and recognition of the <br />Greenway Advisory Committee members. <br />The non-motorized pedestrian half-mile trail completes the connections <br />from downtown Concord to McGee Park to McEachern Greenway to Les Myers Park <br />and Union Street. <br />Although a quorum of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners was <br />present, no action was taken by the Board. <br />The celebration ended at 5:35 p.m. <br />Cle c to e oa <br />
