August 3, 2009 (Work Session) <br />Page 1524 <br />Piggyback Purchase - $220,000.00 on the August 17, 2009 Agenda as a Consent <br />item. <br />Cabarrus County Health Alliance Update <br />John Day, County Manager, briefly commented on efforts of Kannapolis' <br />bond attorney and underwriter to secure a private placement financing with <br />BB&T. He explained the placement would probably be similar to a TIF (Tax <br />Increment Financing), but hopefully with better interest rates. He also <br />stated the need for a new or modified agreement between Cabarrus County and <br />the City of Kannapolis, which does not have to address the larger issue of <br />the full TIF funding. If it does, he said, the Board may want to reconsider <br />some issues given the changes in the world economy. <br />Adjourn <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Poole, <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:55 p.m. <br />Cle the d <br />
