November 16, 2009 (Regular Meeting) Page 1702 <br />(I) REPORTS <br />(I-1) Request for Applications for County Boards/Committees <br />Chairman White announced applications are being accepted for the <br />following County Boards/Committees: <br />• Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Agricultural Advisory Board <br />• Animal Preservation and Protection Advisory Committee <br />• Concord Planning and Zoning Commission (ETJ) <br />• Criminal Justice Partnership Advisory Board <br />• Department of Aging Advisory Board <br />• Industrial Facilities and Pollution Control Financing Authority <br />• Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />• Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee <br />• Parks Commission <br />• Region F Aging Advisory Committee <br />Chairman White urged Cabarrus County citizens to consider serving on a <br />County Board or Committee. <br />(I-2) Tourism Authority - Report on Cabarrus Countv Tourism Authority's 186 <br />Quarter 2009/2010 Activities <br />The Board received the following report as part of the Agenda: the <br />Tourism Authority's First Quarter 2009/2010 Financial Update. <br />(J) GENERAL COIM~NT3 BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />Commissioner Carruth acknowledged the presence of Reverend Jim Hood who <br />announced Kerr Street United Methodist Church will serve a free Thanksgiving <br />dinner to needy and shut-in citizens in the community. <br />Vice Chairman Mynatt commented on the need for volunteers to assist in <br />the Church's Thanksgiving outreach effort. <br />(K) WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br />None. <br />L) CLOSED SESSION <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session as <br />authorized by NCGS 193-318.11(a)(3) and (5). Mike Downs, Deputy County <br />Manager, and Jonathan Marshall, Commerce Director, were invited to the <br />meeting. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of closed session at <br />9:26 p.m. <br />(M) ADJOURN <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Mynatt, <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourned at 9:26 p.m. <br />C1er to e Bo <br />
