This program is funded entirely with State <br />CJPP program funds. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the CJPP contract for services <br />with Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment in the amount of $125,633.00 <br />pending budget approval and authorized the County Manager to execute the <br />agreement, subject to review and/or revisions by the County Attorney. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Maintenance and Repair <br />Agreement between the Cabarrus County Board of Education (BOE), Kannapolis <br />City (BOE) and Cabarrus County as presented, subject to approval of FY 2009 <br />Budget and authorized the Chairman to execute the agreement, subject to <br />review and/or revision by the County Attorney. By the same vote, the Board <br />adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution No. 2008-08 <br />RESOLUTION <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners wishes to continue <br />to provide for the consolidated maintenance staffs of the Cabarrus County <br />Board of Education and the Kannapolis City Board of Education; and <br />WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners has reviewed the <br />Maintenance Agreement and desires to execute it, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Maintenance Agreement attached <br />hereto is hereby ratified. <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />/s/ H. Jay White, Sr., Chair <br />Attest: <br />/s/ Kay Honeycutt <br />Kay Honeycutt, Clerk to the Board <br />he Cabarrus County Convention & Visitors Bureau <br />The Cabarrus County Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) has approached <br />the County with a request to establish a 501(c)6 in order to conduct business <br />for the Cabarrus County Tourism Authority. Since the creation of the Tourism <br />Authority, the County Finance Department has provided all the financial <br />services for the CVB including: bill payments, cash receipts, payroll, and <br />financial reporting. The organization has grown to a point where they can <br />handle their financial services on their own and/or through contracting these <br />services. The County will continue to report the CVB as a component unit in <br />our financial reports as required by accounting standards. The Board will be <br />kept informed of the progress with a date of transition to be effective July <br />2, 2008. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the incorporation of the CVB <br />and authorized the County Manager, County Attorney and the Finance Director <br />to work directly with the Tourism Authority to update all legal documents and <br />agreements deemed necessary by legal counsel related to this conversion. By <br />the same vote, the Board adopted the following resolution: <br />Resolution No. 2008-09 <br />This is the consolidated maintenance and repair agreement for grounds <br />and facility maintenance services to Cabarrus County Schools and Kannapolis <br />City Schools. This agreement will be for an initial period of three (3) <br />years. <br />
