<br />The grant application submitted to the N.C. Department of Correction
<br />for continued CJPP funding was approved in the original budget for
<br />$125,633.00. However, the legislature authorized additional funding in the
<br />amount of $3,538.00. Therefore, the total grant award is $129,171.00. The
<br />Grant Award Contract must be signed prior to the County receiving any funds.
<br />Carolina Addiction and Recovery Environment (CARE) is contracted to provide
<br />the treatment services for FY 08-09.
<br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Standard Grant Award Contract
<br />and Conditions between the N.C. Department of Correction and Cabarrus County
<br />and authorized the County Manager to execute the contract on behalf of
<br />Cabarrus County. By the same vote, the Board also adopted the following
<br />budget amendment:

<br />AMOUNT: $3,538.00
<br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request
<br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: This budget amendment is to appropriate additional
<br />revenue in the amount of $3,538.00 to be received from the N.C. Department of
<br />Correction for the Criminal. Justice Partnership Program (CJPP) Grant. The
<br />legislature authorized additional funding for the CJPP Grant resulting in a
<br />change from the original budget amount of $125,633.00. Funds are used to
<br />operate a community based correction program that provides outpatient
<br />substance abuse treatment services to offenders.
