December 1, 2008 (Organizational Meeting) <br />Page 1067 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met for an <br />Organizational Meeting in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Cabarrus <br />County Governmental Center in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, December 1, <br />2008, at 6:30 p.m. <br />Present - Chairman: H. Jay White, Sr. <br />Commissioners: Robert W. Carruth <br />Grace M. Mynatt <br />Elizabeth F. Poole <br />Coy C. Privette <br />Also present were John Day, County Manager; Richard M. Koch, County <br />Attorney; Mike Downs, Deputy County Manager; Pam Dubois, Deputy County <br />Manager; Kay Honeycutt, Clerk to the Board and Lyndsay Hayes, Deputy Clerk to <br />the Board. <br />Reception for Elected Officials <br />Prior to the organizational meeting, a reception for incoming and <br />outgoing elected officials and a public swearing-in ceremony were held in the <br />Rotunda of the Governmental Center at 5:30 p.m. <br />Administration of Oath to Office: Soil b Water Conservation District <br />Supervisors <br />The Honorable Martin B. McGee, District Court Judge, administered the <br />following Oath of Office to Ned Hudson: <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br />SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISORS <br />I, Ned Hudson, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support the <br />Constitution of the United States; so help me, God. <br />I further solemnly and sincerely swear (or affirm) that I will be <br />faithful and bear true allegiance to the State of North Carolina, and to the <br />constitutional powers and authorities which are or may be established for the <br />government thereof; and that I will endeavor to support, maintain, and defend <br />the Constitution of the United States, to the best of my knowledge and <br />ability; so help me, God. <br />I further swear (or affirm) that I will well and truly execute the <br />duties of the office of Cabarrus Soil and Water Conservation District <br />Supervisor, according to the best of my skills and abilities according to the <br />Soil and Water Conservation District Laws of North Carolina; so help me, God. <br />/s/ Ned Hudson <br />Ned Hudson <br />Subscribed and sworn to before me, this the 1st day of December, 2008. <br />/s/ Judge Martin B.
