Carruth, Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />Attest: <br />/s/ Lori Hinson <br />Lori Hinson, Deputy Clerk to the Board <br />Vice Chairman Juba MOVED to adopt the aforementioned Resolution. <br />Commissioner White seconded the motion. <br />Commissioner Privette asked how much the Resolution was going to cost <br />the taxpayers and a discussion ensued. <br />After discussion, the MOTION unanimously carried. <br />(H) APPOINTMENTS <br />(H-1) Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Commission <br />Chairman Carruth reported the Board appointed Larry Ensley (Alternate <br />Member) to fill the unexpired term of Lanny Lancaster (At Large Member) on <br />the Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Commission in September. An appointment is <br />needed to fill an unexpired term ending August 31, 2010 for an alternate <br />member. <br />Chairman Carruth opened the floor for nominations. <br />Commissioner Mynatt nominated Dennis Yates. <br />Commissioner Privette asked if there was a conflict of interest since <br />Mr. Yates is an architect and involved in some of the County's school <br />projects. There was a short discussion on the matter and it was determined <br />there was no conflict of interest. <br />Commissioner White MOVED to close nominations. <br />By a unanimous vote, the Board appointed Dennis Yates to the Cabarrus <br />Planning and Zoning Commission as an alternate member to complete an <br />unexpired term ending August 31, 2010. <br />(I) REPORTS <br />None. <br />(J) GENERAL COMMENTS BY BOARD MEMBERS <br />None. <br />(K) WATER & SEWER DISTRICT OF CAHARRUS COUNTY <br />No items of business. <br />(L) CLOSED SESSION <br />(L-1) To Dieousa Matters Relating to the Location or Expansion of <br />Industries; to Consult with the Attorney to Preserve the Attorney-Client <br />Privilege and Disouea Threatened or Pending Litigation; and to Consider a <br />Personnel Matter (e) se Authorized by NCGS 143.318.11(a)(3)(4)(6) <br />UPON MOTION of. Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to qo into Closed Session to discuss <br />matters relating to the location or expansion of industries; to consult with <br />the attorney to preserve the attorney-client privilege and discuss threatened <br />or pending litigation; and to consider a personnel matter(s) as authorized by <br />NCGS 193.318.11(a)(3)(9)(6). <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Commissioner Mynatt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of Closed Session. <br />Salary Range for Senior Attorney for the Department of Social Service <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner White, seconded by Vice Chairman Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the Board granted the County Manager the authority to <br />
