Recess of Meeting At 5:50 p.m., the Board took a short break. reconvened the meeting at 6:01 p.m. Chairman Carruth Consent Agreements for the Landon Townhomes, Oxford Commons Townhomes, and the Bluffs at Mill Bridge Subdivisions Kassie G. Watts, Planner, presented a summary of the Consent Agreements for the following subdivisions: Landon Townhomes (Harrisburg Planning and zoning Board), Oxford Commons Townhomes (Concord Planning and zoning Board), and the Bluffs at Mill Bridge (Cabarrus County Planning and Zoning Board) . UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the Consent Agreements for the following subdivisions on June 19, 2006 Agenda as New Business items: Landon Townhomes, Oxford Commons Townhomes, and the Bluffs at Mill Bridge. North Carolina Department of Transportation Maintenance/Right-of-Way Abandonment for a Portion of Macedonia Church Road (SR 1620) Jonathan Marshall, Commerce Director, reported property owners had petitioned the N. C. Department of Transportation (NCDOT) to abandon the maintenance of a portion (O.lO-mile) of Macedonia Church Road from its intersection with Macedonia Church Road Extension to the end of current maintenance. He stated the Board is requested to adopt a resolution supporting this abandonment of maintenance. After approval by the Board of Transportation, the County will need to hold a public hearing on the abandonment of the right-of-way. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place a resolution of support for the abandonment of maintenance on a portion of Macedonia Church Road (SR 1620) by the North Carolina Department of Transportation on the June 19, 2006 Agenda as a Consent item. Fa~land Preservation, Advisory Board Procedures - Amendment to Section 32-28 of the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances Jonathan Marshall, Commerce Director, presented a request to amend Section 32-28, Farmland Preservation, of the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances. The proposed amendment would change the advisory board calendar from a "fiscalll year to a "calendarll year. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Privette and unanimously carried, the Board scheduled a public hearing on the proposed amendment to Section 32-28, Farmland Preservation, Advisory Board Procedures of the Cabarrus County Code of Ordinances on June 19, 2006 at 6:30 p.m. Amendment to the General Conditions of the Contract between Cabarrus County and Turner Construction Company Kelly Sifford, Community Development Manager, presented an amendment to the General Conditions of the contract between Cabarrus County and Turner Construction Company. She stated the changes were very minor in nature. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner and unanimously carried, the Board voted to place the Amendment General Conditions of the contract between Cabarrus County and Construction Company on the June 19, 2006 Agenda as a Consent item. Freeman to the Turner Commissioner Privette made a motion to amend the contract with Turner Construction for the County to be given assurances that none of the company's subcontractors will employ illegal aliens; and further that the subcontractors will be subj ect to a $50,000.00 fine for each illegal alien that is employed.
