Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br />Cabarrus County Commissioners <br /> <br />(F-4) Custody Agreement with Bank of New York for CUstodial Banking Services <br />for Invested Securities <br /> <br />Over the past two years under the banking agreement with Bank of <br />America, Bank of New York has been providing custodial services for the <br />County's invested securities. Since the County no longer banks with Bank of <br />America, it is necessary to enter into a custody agreement with the Bank of <br />New York to continue this service. The fee schedule is on file with the <br />Finance Department. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Juba, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Custody Agreement with the <br />Bank of New York for custodial banking services for invested securities as <br />set forth in the Agenda and authorized the Deputy County Manager/Finance <br />Director to execute the Agreement. <br /> <br />(F-5) Replacement of Landfill Trash Compactor Damaged by Fire - Authorize <br />Purchase of Compactor form Road Machinery, Inc. with Intended Piggyback of <br />City of Enid, Oklahoma, Bid and Adoption of Budget Amendment <br /> <br />The trash compactor at the County Landfill was damaged by fire in early <br />June. Staff has recommended the purchase of a landfill trash compactor by <br />piggybacking a bid awarded previously by the City of Enid, Oklahoma to Kirby- <br />Smith Machinery, Inc. (area distributor). The equipment will be purchased <br />through the Cabarrus County area distributor (Road Machinery, Inc.). The <br />notice of intent to consider the piggyback intention was posted on the <br />County's website on June 23, 2006. <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Juba, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the purchase of a CMI Terex <br />375E Landfill Trash Compactor from Road Machinery, Inc. (area distributor) by <br />piggybacking the original bid awarded to Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. (area <br />distributor), in January 2006 by the City of Enid, Oklahoma, at a cost of <br />$439,950.00. Further, the Board declared the damaged compactor surplus for <br />disposal purposes and adopted the following budget amendment: <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF SOLID WASTE <br />AMOUNT: $439,950.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To fund the purchase of a landfill trash compactor to <br />replace the current machine that was damaged by fire in early June.
