This is a 100% reimbursement <br />grant and no county funds will be needed for implementation. Funds will be <br />used to purchase various equipment to aid in surveillance and patient <br />tracking, terrorism preparedness exercises, protective clothing and <br />equipment, items for decontamination and training for employees. Of this amount, $500,000.00 <br />was transferred to the Communications Tower Construction Account in April <br />2005. A total of $2,000,000.00 has been received for construction. <br />$1,500,000.00 was received from the Capital Reserve Fund and a $500,000.00 <br />Federal Terrorism Grant was received from the State Homeland Security Grant <br />Program. This budget amendment also includes a separation of the Terrorism <br />Grant Expense between Cabarrus County and the City of Concord. This <br />separation is for accounting purposes only. The $500,000.00 grant is shared <br />50/50 with the City of Concord. <br />
