<br />August 29, 2005 - Recessed Meeting <br /> <br />Page <br /> <br />317 <br /> <br />The Board of Commissioners for <br />session at the Kannapolis Country <br />Kannapolis, North Carolina, on Monday, <br /> <br />the County of Cabarrus met in recessed <br />Club located at 1196 Fairway Drive, <br />August 29, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: Carolyn B. Carpenter <br />Vice Chairman: Robert W. Carruth <br />Commissioners: Robert M. Freeman <br />Joni D. Juba <br />Coy C. Privette <br /> <br />Also present were John D. Day, County Manager; Fletcher L. Hartsell, <br />Jr., County Attorney; and Frankie F. Bonds, Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br />Kannapolis Mayor Ray Moss, Mayor Pro-Tern Paul Bessent and Council <br />Members Randy Cauthen, Kenneth Geathers, Darrell Hinnant and Robert S. <br />Misenheimer were also present. City staff present for the meeting included <br />city Manager Mike Legg, Assistant city Manager Eddie Smith, Attorney Wally <br />Safrit and City Clerk Bridgette Bell. <br /> <br />Following a delay, Chairman Carpenter called the meeting to order at <br />7:52 p.m. <br /> <br />City Manager Mike Legg reported that he had spoken with Lynne Safrit by <br />telephone and that David Murdock sent his apologies as he would not be able <br />to attend the meeting due to a personal conflict. He stated Mr. Murdock had <br />invited the County and City officials for a breakfast meeting on Monday, <br />September 12, 2005, at the Kannapolis Country Club to hear the presentation <br />regarding the redevelopment plans for downtown Kannapolis. This meeting <br />would be held on the same day as the public announcement regarding the <br />redevelopment plans. <br /> <br />Recess of Meeting <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Juba and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was recessed at 8:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on <br />Thursday, September 1, 2005, in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental <br />Center. <br /> <br />J~~.~ <br /> <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br />
