<br />December 1, 2005 - Special Meeting <br /> <br />Page <br /> <br />422 <br /> <br />The Board of commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special <br />session in the Multipurpose Room at the Cabarrus County Governmental Center <br />in Concord, North Carolina on Thursday, December I, 2005, at 4:30 p.m. The <br />purpose of the meeting was to conduct a Closed Session in accordance with <br />North Carolina General Statute (NCGS) 143 -318.11 (a) (3) to consult with the <br />County Attorney in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege and <br />discuss the Craft and Morrison litigation (03 CVS 2400 and 03 CVS 2462) . <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: Carolyn B. Carpenter <br />Vice Chairman: Robert W. Carruth <br />Commissioners: Robert M. Freeman <br />Joni D. Juba <br />Coy C. Privette <br /> <br />Also present were John D. Day, County Manager; Fletcher L. Hartsell, <br />Jr., County Attorney; and Frankie F. Bonds, Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br />Chairman Carpenter called the meeting to order at 4:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Privette gave the invocation. <br /> <br />Closed Session <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Juba, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to consult <br />with the County Attorney in order to preserve the attorney-client privilege <br />and to discuss the Craft and Morrison litigation (03 CVS 2400 and 03 CVS <br />2462) as authorized by NCGS 143-318.11(a) (3). <br /> <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Freeman <br />and unanimously carried, the Board voted to come out of Closed Session. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Carpenter adjourned the meeting at 5:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Jr~ .'1-. ~ <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br />
