September 20, 2004 Page 640 <br /> <br /> Chairman Freeman reconvened the regular meeting of the Board at 10:07 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />(L) CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Freeman, seconded by Commissioner Carruth and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to consult <br />with the County Attorney to preserve the attorney-client privilege and <br />discuss threatened or pending litigation as authorized by North Carolina <br />General Statute (NCGS) 143-318.11{a) (3). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Vice Chairman Suggs <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of Closed Session. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the Closed Session. <br /> <br />Appointment to the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br /> <br /> Mr. Day asked the Board to reconsider its earlier appointment of <br />Stephan Tomlinson to the Mental Health Director position on the Juvenile <br />Crime Prevention Council. He explained that Mr. Tomlinson is employed by <br />Daymark Recovery Services, which is a non-profit organization. <br /> <br /> UPON' MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner <br />Privette and unanimously carried, the Board withdrew its appointment of <br />Stephan Tomlinson to the ~Mental Health Director" position on the Juvenile <br />Crime Prevention Council. <br /> <br /> Contact will be made with Dan Coughlin, Piedmont Area Mental Health <br />Director, about this vacant position. <br /> <br />(M) RECESS OF MEETING <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Freeman recessed the meeting at 10:55 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October <br />4, 2004, in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
