The initial term of this sublease began April 1, 2004 and <br />shall continue through June 30, 2005. <br /> <br />(F-2) Revision to the Kevin Pugh Outstanding Officer Award Program <br /> <br /> The 1997 Resolution establishing the Kevin Pugh Outstanding Officer Award <br />Program provided that the award be made from the interest earned on the trust <br />fund. Beverly Pugh, mother of deceased Kevin Pugh, requested a change in <br />Resolution to allow the awards to be paid from the principal contribution. <br />The awards will be made every year until the fund has been depleted. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following revised Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2004-32 <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE <br />KEVIN PUGH OUTSTANDING OFFICER AWARD PROGRAM <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Kevin Pugh served Cabarrus County and its citizens as a Deputy <br />in the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department until his untimely death; <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the family of Kevin Pugh through their generosity, wish to <br />perpetuate the memory of Kevln Pugh by establishing a trust fund with <br />Cabarrus County to award outstanding officers within the Cabarrus County <br />Sheriff's Department; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County agrees to maintain and administer the trust <br />fund and awards. <br /> <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrus County does <br />hereby determine and resolve the following: <br /> <br /> 1. The County shall establish through a donation from the family of <br />Kevin Pugh the KEVIN PUGH OUTSTANDING OFFICER AWARD PROGRAM. <br /> <br /> 2. The donation shall be placed in a separate interest bearing money <br />market account, or similar account, to be maintained and administered by the <br />Cabarrus County Finance Department. <br /> <br /> 3. 4~. One award shall be made <br />to an outstanding first-year officer, and the second award shall be made to <br />an outstanding senior officer. <br /> <br /> 4. ~. The selection of the award recipients shall be made by a <br />committee comprised of the Sheriff, the Chief Deputy and Captain of the <br />Cabarrus County Sheriff's Department, with input from all division or squad <br />supervisors. Criteria considered by the committee shall be performance <br />evaluations, outstanding individual effort, attitude, demeanor and dedication <br />to the office of Deputy Sheriff. <br /> <br /> 5. 6~. The awards shall be made in July of each year and the officers <br />shall receive the award through the normal county payroll. <br /> <br /> 6. ~ Should the KEVIN PUGH OUTSTANDING OFFICER AWARD PROGRAM be <br />discontinued for any reason, then the balance remaining in the trust fund <br />account shall be distributed to the family of Kevin Pugh. <br /> <br />Adopted this the 20th day of September, 2004. <br /> <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> By: /s/ Robert M.
