March 17, 2003 Page 85 <br /> <br /> The Board received the monthly "Vacant Position Status Report <br />(Effective 3/7/03)" as a part of the Agenda. <br /> <br />(J-2) USA Patriot Act Resolution Submitted by Thomas Hill of the Liberty <br />Preservation Association <br /> <br /> The Liberty Preservation Association, through Thomas Hill, requested <br />the Board adopt a Resolution opposing the USA Patriot Act. Mr. Hill <br />discussed this resolution with the Board during the public comment period at <br />the February meeting. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board accepted the Resolution as submitted by <br />Thomas Hill opposing the USA Patriot Act for information only. <br /> <br />(K) CLOSED SESSION <br /> <br />(K-l) To Consult with the County Attorney Re~ardin~ Pending Liti~atlon as <br />Authorized by NCGS 143-318.11(a) (3) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to consult <br />with the County Attorney regarding pending litigation as authorized by North <br />Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a) (3). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Suggs <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to come out of the Closed Session. <br /> <br />No items were reported out of Closed Session. <br /> <br />(L) RECESS OF MEETING <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Freeman recessed the meeting at 1:03 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. on March 31, 2003 <br />at the Midland Medical Park, 12925 US Highway 601, South, Midland. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
