Chairman Freeman opened the meeting for public <br />comments at 7:18 p.m. <br /> <br /> Mr. Tommy Porter, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Watershed Improvement <br />Commission, reported that the Commission has unanimously endorsed the <br />original proposed Eastern Area Plan that included the Georgeville area in the <br />Open Space/Agricultural Preservation District. As a resident of the area, <br />Mr. Porter also endorsed the or. ginal plan, stating it would encourage smart <br />growth for the entire area. <br /> <br /> There was no one else who w. shed to address the Board, and Chairman <br />Freeman closed the meeting for public comments. <br /> <br /> In response to questions by Board members, Mr. Lentz explained <br />guidelines associated with modular home developments and reviewed the <br />rezoning process. He pointed out the lan~ use plan does not change the zoning <br />and that any zoning changes would have to go through the formal rezoning <br />process. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carruth, ~econded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Eastern Area Plan as submitted <br />with Future Land Use Map Option Two. (This ,~ption presents the future land <br />use scenario as discussed at the public hearing held at the April Board of <br />Commissioners meeting.
