<br />(E-9) Deferral of Appointment to Public Health Authority until the August
<br />18th Meeting
<br />
<br /> On June 16, the Board tabled the appointment of the third "public"
<br />member of the Public Health Authority until the July 218t meeting. The
<br />Authority is currently seeking nominations for this position.
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />ahd unanimously carried, the Board deferred the appointment to the Public
<br />Health Authority until the meeting on August 18.

<br />(E-10) Amendment to the Cabarrus County Personnel Ordinance
<br />
<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Carruth
<br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following revision to the
<br />Personnel Ordinance, Article I, Section 2(a), to exempt the County Tax
<br />Administrator position.

<br />ARTICLE I. ORGANIZATION OF PERSONNEL SYSTEM
<br />
<br />Section 1. Purpose
<br />The purpose of this Ordinance is to establish a personnel system, which will
<br />recruit, select, develop and maintain an effective and responsible work
<br />force. This ordinance is established under the authority of Chapter 153A -
<br />Article 5 and Chapter 126 of the General Statutes of North Carolina.
<br />
<br />Section 2. Coverage
<br />Ail employees in the County's service shall be subject to this Ordinance,
<br />except as provided in this section.
<br /> (a) The following officials and employees are exempt.
<br /> 1. Elected Officials;
<br /> 2. County Manager;
<br /> 3. County Attorney;
<br /> 4. Tax Administrator
<br /> 5. Members of advisory and .special boards or commissions;
