June 17, 2002 Page 398 <br /> <br />Purchase of Property <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Vice Chairman Carruth <br />and unanimously carried, the Board authorized the County Manager and County <br />Attorney to proceed with the purchase of approximately six acres of property <br />owned by the Boy Scouts and located adjacent to Northwest Cabarrus Middle and <br />High Schools for athletic fields at a cost of $25,000.00 per acre. Further, <br />the Board authorized the appropriate budget amendment (allocating funds from <br />Contingency) for Fiscal Year 2002 to cover the purchase cost of $150,000.00. <br /> <br />Recess of Meeting <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Suggs, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the'Board, voted to recess the meeting at 12:45 a.m. <br />until 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2002.
