He reported that the State's estimate of the County's FY 2003 <br />Medicaid expenses had been reduced, thus allowing the County to fund new <br />school "start-up" costs budgeted at $450,000.00 (three new schools at <br />$150,000.00). <br /> <br /> There was brief discussion regarding the amount of Medicaid <br />expenditures by the County, the opening of three new schools in Cabarrus <br />County this year and the withholding of reimbursement revenue by the State. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Fennel <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget amendment <br />allocating $450,000.00 in School start-up costs. <br /> <br /> BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br />DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE <br />AMOD-NT': $450,000.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: Reduction of Medicaid Assistance based on the latest <br />estimates from the State.
