Although numbers have not been confirmed, he stated that attendance at <br />this Year's Fair would probably exceed previous years. A meeting will be <br />held to critique the 2002 Fair, with additional parking a main issue for <br />future fairs. <br /> <br />(E) CONSENT AOENDA <br /> <br />(E-l) Approval of Change Order Re~[uests for the Cabarrus Arena and Events <br />Center <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner 'Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following change orders to <br />the contract with Matthews Construction Company, Inc., and the other requests <br />related to the ongoing construction process at the Expo: <br /> <br />Change Order #54 <br />Change Order #55 <br />Change Order #56 <br />Change Order #57 <br /> <br />Parking Lot Striping <br />Conduits/Comm-Data <br />Add floor duct/Events Center <br />Deduct'windows - Gold Hall <br /> <br />$ 2,048.00 <br />$ 56,667.00 <br />$ 6,234.00 <br />($ 21,100.00) <br /> <br />Cable Express Technologies <br />Culp Brothers, Inc. <br /> <br />Network System/Expo <br />Install Water & Sewer/ <br /> Fair Office <br /> <br />$ 40,555.51 <br />$ 2,355.00 <br /> <br />(E-2) Approval of Urgent Repair Program Assistance Policy <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the Urgent Repair Program <br />Assistance Policy for the 2003 Cycle of the Urgent Repair Program as <br />submitted by Ms. Kelly Sifford, Community Development Manager; and authorized <br />the Chairman to execute the Assistance Policy on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />(E-3) Resolution Approving $10,000 in Local Match for the Urgent Repair <br />Program <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution approving <br />the transfer of $10,000.00 in match funds for the Urgent Repair Program. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2002 - 33 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION BY THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />TO APPROVE $10,000 IN LOCAL MATCH FOR THE URGENT REPAIR <br />PROGRAM <br /> <br />WHEREAS, cabarrus County, North Carolina has determined that the health and <br />welfare of their jurisdiction may benefit from increasing the availability of <br />safe, affordable and standard ~ousing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Cabarrus County, North Carolina has determined that providing safe, <br />affordable and standard housing will benefit the work force productivity and <br />area economic development; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency has <br />Program grant available to repair emergency needs <br />individuals and families; <br /> <br /> an Urgent Repair <br />of special needs <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />that: <br /> <br />2 o <br /> <br />The Cabarrus County Board of- Commissioners authorizes staff to make <br />application to the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for an Urgent <br />Repair. Program grant to support identified housing goals in Cabarrus <br />County; and <br />Cabarrus County will provide $10,000 in local match for the North <br />Carolina Housing Finance Agency Urgent Repair Program, if funded, to <br />further the goal of safe, affordable and standard housing in Cabarrus <br />County. <br /> <br /> <br />
