140 <br /> <br />Creek Corporation, as noted above; thence with the line of Saddle <br />Creek Corporation S. 30-02-45 E. 64.51 feet to a Stone (found), a <br />corner of Hall as noted above; thence with the line of Hall S. <br />56-07-17 W. 106.88 feet to an existing iron pipe; thence <br />continuing with the line of Hall, S. 74-11-15 W. 121.74 feet to <br />an existing iron pin, a corner of Lot 40 Stallings Farm Phase 3 <br />(Map book 34, page 103); thence with the line of Lot 40 S. 74-11- <br />15 W. 169.76 feet to the point of Beginning, containing 0.5381 <br />acres more or less, as platted and surveyed by Andrew G. <br />Zoutewelle, PLS, June 4, 2001. <br /> The above-described property is a part of that property <br />acquired by the .Grantor in Book 2290 page 59, Cabarrus County <br />.Registry. <br /> <br /> Chairman Fennel advised Mr. Scarbrough and the others present for the <br />meeting that they should address the issues relating to the zoning and <br />development of Saddle Creek with the Town of Harrisburg. <br /> <br />Cabarrus/Mecklenburq County Line <br /> <br /> Mr. Jonathan Marshall, Planning Services Director, presented an update <br />on the re-survey of the Mecklenburg/Cabarrus County line. The line was last <br />re-surveyed in 1905 and discrepancies have been found between the tax maps <br />and the recent re-survey. As "special commissioner" appointed by the Board, <br />Mr. Marshall is working with Mecklenburg County staff and the State to <br />resolve boundary issues and to develop a recommendation for consideration by <br />the County Commissioners in both Mecklenburg and Cabarrus counties. He stated <br />it would be at least six months and possibly longer before this issue would <br />be brought to the Board for consideration. <br /> <br />Closed Session - Economic Development <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to discuss <br />matters relating to the location or expansion of industries or other <br />businesses in Cabarrus County as authorized by North Carolina General Statute <br />143-318.11(a) (4). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to end the Closed Session. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the Closed Session. <br /> <br />Closed Session - Acc~uisition of Real Property <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Freeman and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into Closed Session to give <br />instructions to counsel as to the position to be taken on behalf of the Board <br />in negotiating the price and other material terms of a contract or proposed <br />contract for the acquisition of real property as authorized by North Carolina <br />General Statute 143-318.11(a) (5). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to end the Closed Session. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the Closed Session. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Fennel adjourned the meeting at 9:25 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
