201 <br /> <br />agreement, a lease or a combination lease/operating agreement. Mr. Hartsell <br />commented on the lack of State funding for Reed Gold Mine and indicated the <br />General Assembly would be interested in a partnership arrangement between the <br />State and County due to State's current budget situation. <br /> <br /> Chairman Fennel thanked Ms. Williams, Mr. Dysart and Mr. Powell for <br />attending the meeting. There will be further discussions between County <br />staff and State officials to review opportunities concerning Reed Gold Mine. <br /> <br />Closed Session <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to go into Closed Session to consult <br />with the County Attorney as authorized by North Carolina General Statute 143- <br />318.11(a) (3) and to discuss matters relating to the location or expansion of <br />industries or other businesses in Cabarrus County as authorized by North <br />Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a) (4). <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to end the Closed Session. <br /> <br />No action was reported from the Closed Session. <br /> <br />Recess of Meeting <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Fennel recessed the meeting at 9:55 p.m. until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, October <br />13, 2001, in the Multipurpose Room at the Governmental Center. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
