387 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 120-163 further requires that <br />the petition must include a proposed name for the city, a map of the city, a <br />list of proposed services to be provided by the proposed municipality, the <br />names of three persons to serve as interim governing board, a proposed <br />charter, a statement of the estimated population, assessed valuation, degree <br />of development, population density and recommendations as to the form of <br />government and manner of election; and <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of the Midland community are aware of the process <br />for incorporation and have stated they plan to submit the required petition <br />and other necessary information to the North Carolina General Assembly for <br />consideration during the 2000 Legislative Session. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners supports the rights of the citizens of the Midland community to <br />pursue the incorporation of Midland through the process set forth by North <br />Carolina General Statutes. <br /> Adopted this the 18tn day of January, 2000. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Frankie F. Fennel <br /> <br />Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Request for Funding in the Amount of $30,000 from the Town of Harrisburg for <br />the Completion of Soccer Fields at the Harrisburg Town Park - Mayor Carl <br />Parmer and Steve Little, Parks and Recreation Director <br /> <br /> Mayor Carl Parmer of the Town of Harrisburg requested funding <br />assistance of $30,000.00 for the completion of two full size soccer fields at <br />the Harrisburg Town Park.
