398 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by <br />Barnhart and unanimously carried, the Board by resolution <br />addition of Deer Haven Drive to the State Secondary Road System. <br /> <br />Commissioner <br />approved the <br /> <br />Resolution Approvinq the Abandonment of a Portion of Dr. Floyd Road (SR 2482) <br />from the Secondary Road System <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner <br />Barnhart and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2000-05 <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA STATE DEPARTMENT OF TP~ANSPORTATION <br /> AND HIGHWAY SAFETY REQUEST FOR ABANDONMENT FROM <br /> STATE MAINTAINED SECONDARY ROAD SYSTEM <br /> <br />North Carolina <br />County of Cabarrus <br />Road Description: Portion of Dr. Floyd Road (SR 2482) <br />Length to be abandoned 915' (0.17 mile) <br />Length to be Retained (if applicable) 1,725' (0.33 mile) <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County <br />Commissioners of the County of Cabarrus requesting that the above described <br />road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be <br />abandoned from the Secondary Road System; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the <br />above described road should be abandoned from the Secondary Road System, if <br />the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of <br />Highways of the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety for the <br />abandonment of roads from the System. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />the County of Cabarrus that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to <br />review the above-described road, and to cease maintenance of same road if it <br />meets established standards and criteria. <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizinq the FY 2001 Comm%unity Transportation (CTP) Grant <br />Application <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner <br />Barnhart and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2000-02 <br /> <br />FY 2001 Community Transportation Program (CTP) Grant Application <br />SECTION 6 <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Applicant Seeking Permission to Apply for Human Service Transportation <br />Funding, Enter Into Agreement With the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation and to Provide the Necessary Assurances. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Article 2B of Chapter 136 of the North Carolina General <br />Statutes and the Governor of North Carolina have designated the North <br />Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) as the agency responsible for <br />administering federal and state public transportation funds; and <br /> WHEREAS, the North Carolina Department of Transportation receives funds <br />from the North Carolina General Assembly to provide assistance for rural <br />public transportation projects; and <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of these transportation funds is to provide grant <br />monies to local agencies for the provision of rural public transportation <br />services; <br /> WHEREAS, Cabarrus County hereby assures and certifies that it will <br />comply with the federal and state Statutes, regulations, executive orders, <br />and all administrative requirements related to the applications made to and <br />grants received from the North Carolina Department of Transportation; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the County Manager of Cabarrus <br />County is hereby authorized to submit a grant application for state funding, <br />make the necessary assurances and certifications and be empowered to enter <br />into an agreement with NCDOT to provide rural public transportation services. <br /> <br />Budqet Amenclment - Social Services <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner <br />Barnhart and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following budget <br />amendment. <br /> <br /> <br />
