She <br />stated there were 72 houses in the area that still do not have sewer. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jonathan Marshall, Planning Services Director, reviewed the three <br />Fishertown/Princeton Park projects that used Community Development Block <br />Grant funds and matching County funds to provide water, sewer and housing <br />rehabilitation to the residents over a number of years. <br /> <br /> Chairman Fennel asked Mr. Marshall to present a report at the May 15th <br />meeting concerning possible grant funding that would be available to do <br />additional work in the Fishertown/Princeton Park communities. <br /> <br /> Ms. Betty Cannon, resident of 5912 Charleston Avenue, Kannapolis, <br />questioned the failure to complete construction of sewer lines in the <br />Fishertown/Princeton Park areas. Also, she stated the need for additional <br />work on some of the homes in the area belonging to elderly and low-income <br />families. <br /> <br /> Ms. Marilyn Barnhardt, resident of 5800 Wabash Lane, Concord, presented <br />complaints regarding a number of issues, including annexation of her home by <br />the City of Kannapolis, high density residential development, traffic <br />problems on 1-85 and the construction of the Westside Bypass. She questioned <br />the future water supply for the county and stated her support for a lottery <br />in NOrth Carolina. <br /> <br /> There was no one else present who wished to address the Board, and <br />Chairman Fennel closed that portion of the meeting. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br /> <br />Centralina Development CorDoration Board <br />Centralina Workforce DeveloDment Board <br /> <br /> The Board by consensus deferred the appointments to the Centralina <br />Development Corporation Board and the Centralina Workforce Development Board <br />until the next meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> <br />Desiqn Build Leqislation - County Attorney Fletcher Hartse11 <br /> <br /> Mr. Hartsell stated the deadline for filing local legislation is May <br />24. He asked the Board's wishes regarding proposed legislation seeking <br />design build authority for schools. The Board by general agreement asked Mr. <br />Hartsell to proceed with work on a draft of the proposed design build <br />legislation. <br /> <br /> <br />
