This expense will require a budget amendment prior <br />to service rendered. To be funded via post-closure funds. <br />Additional funding in the Landfill FY 2001 is represented by the <br />following additional changes and deletions. <br /> White Goods Expense $ 250,000.00 <br /> Advertising Expense 3,500.00 <br /> Purchased Service Expense 25,000.00 <br /> Storage Building 35,000.00 <br /> Recycling Coordinator 39,495.00 <br /> Deletions: <br /> Consultants (36,000.00) <br /> Passive Methane Gas Ventilation (180,000.00) <br /> <br />The above referenced changes represent a total net amount of <br />undesignated revenues from the Preliminary Budget of $561,727.00. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Privette made a motion, seconded by Chairman Fennel, that <br />the Board approve the FY 2000-2001 Cabarrus County Budget, set the County's <br />tax rate at 56 cents (a reduction of three cents) and incorporate all the <br />changes that had been made to the preliminary budget with the exception of <br />the requested increase in the fire tax rate for the Harrisburg Fire Tax <br />District which would be deferred until the meeting on June 26, 2000. <br /> <br /> There was brief discussion regardin9 the decrease in the tax rate due <br />to the increase in the County's tax base, funding for new schools, concern <br />that the cities of Concord and Kannap~lis are considering a tax increase and <br />the need for additional information concerning the request for an increase in <br />the Harrisburg Fire District tax. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board voted to amend the preliminary <br />FY 2000-2001 Cabarrus County Budget to include a County appropriation of <br />$26,000.00 from the Contingency Fund to the Cabarrus Arts Council. <br /> <br /> Chairman Fennel requested the Arts Council to work this next year to <br />replace those County funds with private funds for FY 2001-2002.
