579 <br /> <br />Resolution No. 2000-29 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE REGULAR MEETING SCHEDULE <br /> FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2001 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the regular meetings of the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners are currently held on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 <br />p.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Governmental Center; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday and the National <br />Association of Counties Annual Conference require a change in the regular <br />meeting dates in January and July, 2001, respectively. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the Cabarrus County Board of <br />Commissioners, pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 153A-40(a), does <br />hereby reconfirm its' regular meeting schedule to meet on the third Monday of <br />each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the <br />Governmental Center with the exception of the January 2001 meeting which will <br />be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2001, and the July 2001 meeting <br />which will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2001. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the regular meeting dates of the Cabarrus <br />County Board of Commissioners for the calendar year 2001 are as follows: <br /> January 22, 2001 <br /> February 19, 2001 <br /> March 19, 2001 <br /> April 16, 2001 <br /> May 21, 2001 <br /> June 18, 2001 <br /> July 23, 2001 <br /> August 20, 2001 <br /> September 17, 2001 <br /> 'October 15, 2001 <br /> November 19, 2001 <br /> December 17, 2001 <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that any recessed, special or emergency meeting <br />will be held as needed with proper notice as required by North Carolina <br />General Statute 153A-40. <br /> Adopted this the 4th day of December, 2000. <br /> <br /> /s/ Arne L. Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />INFORMAL PUBLIC COM/~E/TTS <br /> <br /> Chairman Fennel opened the meeting for Informal Public Comments at 7:40 <br />P.M. <br /> <br /> Mr. Allen Furr of 2634 Plantation Drive, Concord, stated in his opinion <br />the fireworks displays at the Concord Motorsports Park present no problems <br />and there is no need to change the County's noise ordinance to address this <br />issue. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS DISCUSSION & RESPONSE TO INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS (if needed) <br /> <br /> Chairman Fennel advised Mr. Furr that the Board is scheduled to <br />consider fireworks displays and the noise ordinance at a future meeting. <br /> <br /> Vice Chairman Carruth commended Mr. Barnhart, Mrs. Casper and Mrs. <br />Carpenter for their service as County Commissioners. Chairman Fennel again <br />expressed appreciation to the three former commissioners for their service to <br />Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Fennel adjourned the meeting at 7:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
