EMC/Fire Marshal <br />Administrative Asst. <br /> <br />Desiqnation of Conunissioner Casper as the Votinq Deleqate to the 1999 NACo <br />Annual Conference <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Casper <br />and unanimously carried, the Board designated Commissioner Casper as its <br />voting delegate to the 1999 Annual Conference of the National Association of <br />Counties to be held in St. Louis, Missouri in July. <br /> <br />Amendment to Chapter 14, Article II, Permits and Inspections of the Code of <br />Ordinances <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner Casper <br />and unanimously carried, the Board approved the following Ordinance Amending <br />Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances. <br /> Ordinance No. 1999-06 <br /> AMENDMENT TO <br /> CABARRUS COUNTY CODE OF ORDINANCES <br /> Chapter 14, Article II <br /> Permits and Inspections <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED that Chapter 14, Article II, of the Code of Ordinances, <br />Cabarrus County, North Carolina, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> ARTICLE I. IN GENERAL <br />Secs. 14-1--14-25 Reserved. <br /> <br /> ARTICLE II. PERMITS AND <br /> INSPECTIONS* <br />Sec. 14-26. Permits required. <br /> (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to build, construct, repair, <br /> remodel, insulate, add to, move or demolish any structure or building within <br /> the county without first having secured a permit for the proposed work. <br /> (b) It shall be unlawful to initiate work on any proposed project before a <br /> permit is obtained. A fee equal to two times the permit fee will be assessed <br /> for a violation of this section. <br /> (c) A permit is not required for any construction, installation, repair, <br /> replacement, or alteration costing $5,000.00 or less in any single-family <br /> residence or farm building unless the work involves: the addition, repair, or <br /> replacement of load-bearing structures; the addition (excluding replacement <br /> of same size and capacity) or change in the design of plumbing; the addition, <br /> <br /> <br />
