W. Flowe Park <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Little, Parks and Recreation Director, reported the County <br />had been awarded a North Carolina Parks and Recreation Trust Fund matching <br />grant in the amount of $250,000.00 for the construction of W. W. Flowe Park. <br />The County will provide the local share match of $250,000.00 for this grant. <br />Mr. Little introduced Mr. Tom Garrison, Mayor of the Town of Badin and a <br />member of the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Commission, and Mr. Bob <br />Misenheimer, Chairman of the Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Commission. <br /> <br /> On behalf of the State of North Carolina, Mr. Garrison officially <br />presented the $250,000.00 check from the State to Cabarrus County for the W. <br />W. Flowe Park Project. <br /> <br />Informal Public Conunents <br /> <br />Chairman Barnhart opened the meeting for Informal Public Comments. <br /> <br /> Ms. Doris Hagler asked that her name be withdrawn from appointment to <br />the Region F Aging Advisory Committee as an alternate member. She indicated <br />that she wished to serve only as a regular member of that committee. Also, <br />she stated in her opinion it was very unprofessional when one commissioner <br />tries to stack committee appointments. <br /> <br /> There was no one else present to address the Board and Chairman <br />Barnhart closed that portion of the meeting. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman <br />Barnhart adjourned the meeting at 6:45 p.m. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
