Specifically, it was clarified
that the School Board holds the responsibility for making decisions regarding
capping, redistricting and multi-track schools.

Commissioner Fennel presented the following Resolution and made a motion
for its adoption.

Cabarrus County Commissioners
Resolution to Create the
Cabarrus County citizens Construction Oversight Committee

WHEREAS, the Cabarrus County Commissioners (Commissioners)
are directly responsible to the taxpayers of Cabarrus County, and
WHEREAS, The Cabarrus County and Kannapolis City School
Boards (School Board) are directly responsible to families for
the academic education of our public school children, and
WHEREAS, the educational needs of our public school
children are the #1 priority of the Commissioners, and
WHEREAS, there has been a loss of credibility in the design
and construction of public school buildings in our county, and
WHEREAS, due to the amount of taxpayers' monies being spent
on public school buildings, we need the advice and oversight of
professionals and experts in the construction and development
industries,
THEREFORE, Be It Resolved, that the Commissioners hereby
create the Cabarrus County citizens Construction Oversight
Committee (Committee).

The Committee will:
1.
