289 <br /> <br />APPOINTMENTS TO BOARDS AND COMMITTEES <br /> <br />Board of Equalization and Review <br /> <br /> Commissioner Carpenter nominated Mr. Eric W. Clark for appointment to <br />the Board of Equalization and Review. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved that nominations be closed and Mr. Eric <br />W. Clark appointed by acclamation to the Board of Equalization and Review for <br />a term of three years ending June 30, 2002. Mr. Clark will fill the position <br />previously held by Mr. Charles K. Furr who had served six years on the Board. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Fennel will present the name of a nominee to fill the <br />remaining position at the next Board meeting. <br /> <br />Region F Aging Advisory Committee <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Privette, seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Doris Hagler as a <br />regular member to the Region F Aging Advisory Committee for a term of two <br />years ending June 30, 2001. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hagler had declined her previous appointment as an alternate member <br />and will fill the position previously held by Dr. Wallace Early who was <br />ineligible for reappointment. <br /> <br />The appointment of the alternate member will be made at a later date. <br /> <br />Region F Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Paula Fox of the NorthEast <br />Medical Center to the Region F Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council to <br />fill the position previously held by Ms. Dianne Kindley. Ms. Fox's unexpired <br />term will end on June 30, 2000. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to make an exception to the County's <br />Appointment Policy and reappoint Ms. Mae Block to the Region F Emergency <br />Medical Services Advisory Council for a fourth term of two years ending June <br />30, 2001. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Casper, seconded by Commissioner Privette <br />and unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. John Lomanaco to the Region <br />F Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council for a term of two years ending <br />June 30, 2001. <br /> <br />Cabarrus Health Alliance Board (Public Health Authority) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Chairman Barnhart <br />and unanimously carried, the Board moved to accept the recommendation of the <br />Health Alliance Board and reappoint Dr. Thomas Powell (Cabarrus County <br />Medical Society) and Dr. Robert Surratt (Cabarrus Physician's Organization) <br />to the Cabarrus Health Alliance Board (Public Health Authority) for a term of <br />three years ending June 30, 2002. <br /> <br />Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Chairman Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed the following persons to the Adult <br />Care Home Community Advisory Committee for initial terms of one year ending <br />August 31, 2000: Kristle Griffith; Martha E. T. Hagood; and Gail Hall. <br /> <br />Criminal Justice Partnership Proqram Advisory Board <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Privette and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Ms. Ronda Powell to the Criminal <br />Justice Partnership Advisory Board to fill the vacant position created by the <br />resignation of Ms. Janet Retera. Ms. Powell's unexpired term will end on <br />April 30, 2001. Further, the Board appointed District Court Judge Randall <br />Combs to a new position on the advisory board for a term ending June 30, <br />2001. Both appointments were recommended by the Criminal Justice Partnership <br /> <br /> <br />
