Casper <br /> Chairman, Board of Commissioners <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Establishment of Count~ Boundar~ Line Between Cabarrus and Iredell Counties - Mr. <br />~ar~ Thom~sonf Geodetic Surve~ Section of the N. C. Office of State Plannin~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Gary Thompson, Chief of Field Operations of the Geodetic Survey Section <br />of the North Caroling Office of State Planning, reported that his office had <br />completed the survey as requested by the Board in April 197 to establish the <br />boundary between Cabarrus and Iredell Counties. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1998-03 <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS THAT, <br /> <br />Having reviewed the evidence and survey information provided by the <br />North Carolina Geodetic Survey (NCGS) concerning the county boundary <br />between Iredell and Cabarrus counties that was established under the <br />guidelines of North Carolina General Statute 153A-18 and a resolution <br />adopted by Iredell and Cabarrus counties September 6, 1994 and April <br />21, 1997, <br /> <br />That Cabarrus County accepts a plat provided by NCGS and further <br />agrees, <br /> <br />That the counties of Iredell, Rowan, and Cabarrus agree that the <br />centerline of Coddle Creek labeled as Iredell 15A and referenced by a <br />monument labeled as Iredell 15 is the common corner of all three <br />counties. <br /> <br />That the counties of Cabarrus, Iredell, and Mecklenburg accept the <br />monument labeled as Iredell 16A (referenced by Iredell 16), centerline <br />of Rocky River as the common corner of all three counties, <br /> <br />That NCGS will submit the results of this survey to National Geodetic <br />Survey for inclusion into the National Spatial Reference System; and <br />that until NCGS receives the adjusted data from the National Geodetic <br />Survey, the state plane coordinates determined by NCGS on the county <br />line monuments will be labeled as preliminary, <br /> <br />That the counties of Iredell and Cabarrus accept the plat prepared by <br />NCGS as being the true boundary between said counties and agree to <br />record said plat in the Register of Deeds of each county and will make <br />note of this resolution in the commissioners' notes and also agree to <br />submit a copy of said plat to the Secretary of State's office, <br /> <br />That the counties of Iredell and Cabarrus will not record said plat <br />until it receives from NCGS a plat properly certified and labeled <br />"Final NAD 83 Coordinates." <br /> <br />ADOPTED THIS THE 20th DAY OF JANUARY, 1998. <br /> <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> By: /s/ Sue B.
