Casper Chairman, Board of Commissioners NEW BUSINESS Establishment of Count~ Boundar~ Line Between Cabarrus and Iredell Counties - Mr. ~ar~ Thom~sonf Geodetic Surve~ Section of the N. C. Office of State Plannin~ Mr. Gary Thompson, Chief of Field Operations of the Geodetic Survey Section of the North Caroling Office of State Planning, reported that his office had completed the survey as requested by the Board in April 197 to establish the boundary between Cabarrus and Iredell Counties. UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Mills and unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Resolution. RESOLUTION NO. 1998-03 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CABARRUS COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS THAT, Having reviewed the evidence and survey information provided by the North Carolina Geodetic Survey (NCGS) concerning the county boundary between Iredell and Cabarrus counties that was established under the guidelines of North Carolina General Statute 153A-18 and a resolution adopted by Iredell and Cabarrus counties September 6, 1994 and April 21, 1997, That Cabarrus County accepts a plat provided by NCGS and further agrees, That the counties of Iredell, Rowan, and Cabarrus agree that the centerline of Coddle Creek labeled as Iredell 15A and referenced by a monument labeled as Iredell 15 is the common corner of all three counties. That the counties of Cabarrus, Iredell, and Mecklenburg accept the monument labeled as Iredell 16A (referenced by Iredell 16), centerline of Rocky River as the common corner of all three counties, That NCGS will submit the results of this survey to National Geodetic Survey for inclusion into the National Spatial Reference System; and that until NCGS receives the adjusted data from the National Geodetic Survey, the state plane coordinates determined by NCGS on the county line monuments will be labeled as preliminary, That the counties of Iredell and Cabarrus accept the plat prepared by NCGS as being the true boundary between said counties and agree to record said plat in the Register of Deeds of each county and will make note of this resolution in the commissioners' notes and also agree to submit a copy of said plat to the Secretary of State's office, That the counties of Iredell and Cabarrus will not record said plat until it receives from NCGS a plat properly certified and labeled "Final NAD 83 Coordinates."
