The cost of <br />the one-day event is estimated tobe approximately $40,000.00 depending upon the <br />volume of waste collected. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Authorization for County Manager to Enter into Contract with Concord Asbestos <br />Abatement~ Inc. for the Removal of Asbestos Materials from the Carolina Tire <br /> <br />Building and the.Anything Automotive Building ($12~946.00) <br /> <br /> Commissioner Barnhart asked for permission to be excluded from the vote on <br />this issue, stating that Concord Asbestos Abatement is a customer of his company. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Casper, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to allow Commissioner Barnhart to abstain <br />from voting on this item due to the proprietary relationship with the company. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Chairman Casper with <br />Commissioners Mills and Niblock and Chairman Casper voting for, Commissioner <br />Barnhart abstaining, and Commissioner Carpenter voting against, the Board awarded <br />the contract to Concord Asbestos Abatement, Inc., to perform the asbestos removal <br />from the Carolina Tire Building and the Anything Automotive Building located on <br />Corban Avenue at a proposed contract amount of $12,946.00. Further, the Board <br />authorized the County Manager to sign the contract on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Authorization for the County Manager to Enter into Contract with K&K Kay's <br />Konstruction for the Demolition and Removal of the Carolina Tire Buildinq and the <br /> <br />~nything Automotive Building ($23~875.00) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Mills with <br />Commissioners Barnhart, Mills and Niblock and Chairman Casper voting for and <br />Commissioner Carpenter voting against, the Board awarded a contract to K&K Kay's <br />Konstruction to perform the demolition services for the Carolina Tire Building <br />and Anything Automotive Building on Corban Avenue at a proposed contract amount <br />of $23,875.00. Further, the Board authorized the County Manager to execute the <br />contract on behalf of Cabarrus County. <br /> <br />Authorization for the County Manager to Enter into an Architectural Services <br />Contract with Overcash-Demmitt Architects (Relocation of the Vehicle Maintenance <br />Facility - $17,500.00) and with DDB Architect (Up-fittinq of the Existinq Public <br />Health Building - $15~000.00) and Adoption of Related Budget Amendment <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with <br />Commissioners Barnhart and Niblock and Chairman Casper voting for and <br />Commissioners Carpenter and Mills voting against, the Board awarded a contract <br />to Overcash-Demmitt Architects to perform architectural services for the <br />relocation and design of the Vehicle Maintenance Building at a contract amount <br />of $17,500.00 and awarded a contract in the amount of $15,000.00 to DDB Architect <br />to perform architectural services for the up-fitting of the existing Public <br />Health Building to allow for the relocation of the Cooperative Extension, Farm <br /> <br /> <br />
