568 <br /> <br />Development Services Department Fee Schedule - Approval of $75.00 Fee for A <br />Temporary Power Inspection <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with <br />Commissioners Carpenter, Niblock and Barnhart and Chairman Casper voting for, the <br />Board agreed to include a fee of $75.00 for Temporary Power within the existing <br />Fee Schedule for the Development Services Department. <br /> <br />Resolution Supportinq the Riqhts of the Citizens of the Rimer Community to Pursue <br />the Incorporation of Rimertown Throuqh the Process Set Forth by the North <br />Carolina General Statutes <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with <br />Commissioners Carpenter, Niblock and Barnhart and Chairman Casper voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following Resolution. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />Resolution No. 1998-13 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, representatives of the Rimer community association <br />have informed the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners that <br />citizens of that community wish to incorporate the Rimertown area to <br />include those individuals residing within the boundaries as outlined <br />on the attached map; and <br /> WHEREAS, under current North Carolina law, a town may be <br />incorporated only by act of the North Carolina General Assembly <br />subsequent to the review and recommendation by the Joint Legislative <br />Commission on Municipal Incorporations; and <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 120-163 outlines the <br />procedures that a community must follow in its efforts to <br />incorporate, specifically a petition signed by 15 percent of the <br />registered voters of the area proposed to be incorporated and <br />verified by the Cabarrus County Board of Elections; and <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 120-163 further <br />requires that the petition must include a proposed name for the <br />city, a map of the city, a list of proposed services to be provided <br />by the proposed municipality, the names of three persons to serve as <br />interim governing board, a proposed charter, a statement of the <br />estimated population, assessed valuation, degree of development, <br />population density and recommendations as to the form of government <br />and manner of election; and <br /> WHEREAS, the citizens of the Rimer community are aware of the <br />process for incorporation and have stated they plan to submit the <br />required petition and other necessary information to the North <br />Carolina General Assembly for consideration during the 1999 <br />Legislative Session. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board <br />of Commissioners supports the rights of the citizens of the Rimer <br />community to pursue the incorporation of Rimertown through the <br />process set forth by North Carolina General Statutes. <br /> Adopted this the 20th day of April, 1998. <br /> <br /> /s/ Sue Casper <br /> Sue Casper, Chair <br />ATTEST: Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />/s/ Frankie F. Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />Approval of Bakers Creek Greenwa¥ Expansion Project (Land Acquisition 2.6 Acres) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with <br />Commissioners Carpenter, Niblock and Barnhart and Chairman Casper voting for, the <br />Board approved the acquisition of a 2.6 acre tract located next to Bakers Creek <br />Greenway on the corner of Glenn Avenue and Mountain Circle for the Bakers Creek <br />Greenway Expansion Project. The Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission received <br />$29,750.00 from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Authority's Trust Fund <br />for this Project. <br /> <br />Department of Aqinq Urqent Repair Proqram - Budqet Amendment (Supplemental Funds) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with <br />Commissioners Carpenter, Niblock and Barnhart and Chairman Casper voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following budget amendment. <br /> <br /> <br />
