568 Development Services Department Fee Schedule - Approval of $75.00 Fee for A Temporary Power Inspection UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with Commissioners Carpenter, Niblock and Barnhart and Chairman Casper voting for, the Board agreed to include a fee of $75.00 for Temporary Power within the existing Fee Schedule for the Development Services Department. Resolution Supportinq the Riqhts of the Citizens of the Rimer Community to Pursue the Incorporation of Rimertown Throuqh the Process Set Forth by the North Carolina General Statutes UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with Commissioners Carpenter, Niblock and Barnhart and Chairman Casper voting for, the Board adopted the following Resolution. RESOLUTION Resolution No. 1998-13 WHEREAS, representatives of the Rimer community association have informed the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners that citizens of that community wish to incorporate the Rimertown area to include those individuals residing within the boundaries as outlined on the attached map; and WHEREAS, under current North Carolina law, a town may be incorporated only by act of the North Carolina General Assembly subsequent to the review and recommendation by the Joint Legislative Commission on Municipal Incorporations; and WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 120-163 outlines the procedures that a community must follow in its efforts to incorporate, specifically a petition signed by 15 percent of the registered voters of the area proposed to be incorporated and verified by the Cabarrus County Board of Elections; and WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 120-163 further requires that the petition must include a proposed name for the city, a map of the city, a list of proposed services to be provided by the proposed municipality, the names of three persons to serve as interim governing board, a proposed charter, a statement of the estimated population, assessed valuation, degree of development, population density and recommendations as to the form of government and manner of election; and WHEREAS, the citizens of the Rimer community are aware of the process for incorporation and have stated they plan to submit the required petition and other necessary information to the North Carolina General Assembly for consideration during the 1999 Legislative Session. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners supports the rights of the citizens of the Rimer community to pursue the incorporation of Rimertown through the process set forth by North Carolina General Statutes. Bonds, Clerk to the Board Approval of Bakers Creek Greenwa¥ Expansion Project (Land Acquisition 2.6 Acres) UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with Commissioners Carpenter, Niblock and Barnhart and Chairman Casper voting for, the Board approved the acquisition of a 2.6 acre tract located next to Bakers Creek Greenway on the corner of Glenn Avenue and Mountain Circle for the Bakers Creek Greenway Expansion Project. The Cabarrus-Rowan Park Commission received $29,750.00 from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation Authority's Trust Fund for this Project.
