586 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special <br />session in the Commissioners' Conference Room at the Gabarrus County Governmental <br />Center in Concord, North Carolina on Saturday, May 16, 1998, at 9:30 A.M. The <br />purpose of the meeting was to conduct a closed session as authorized by North <br />Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(6) to consider the qualifications of a <br />prospective County employee for the position of Tax Administrator. <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: Sue B. Casper <br /> Vice-Chair: Carolyn B. Carpenter <br /> Commissioner: Dr. Franklin C. Niblock, Jr. <br />Absent - Commissioners: Jeffrey L. Barnhart <br /> Kenneth Mills <br /> <br /> Mr. Don Moorhead, Human Resources Director, was also present for the <br />meeting and recorded the minutes in the absence of the Clerk. <br /> <br />Chairman Casper called the meeting to order at 9:30 A.M. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into closed session as authorized by <br />North Carolina General Statute 143-318.11(a)(6) to consider the qualifications <br />of a prospective County employee for the position of Tax Administrator. Mr. <br />Moorhead and the applicant(s) met with the Board during the closed session. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Niblock and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to end the closed session. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Casper <br />adjourned the meeting at approximately 12:40 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
