610 <br /> <br />space at the McAllister School from the Town of Mt. Pleasant to provide <br />Computer Installation, Maintenance and Repair programs for Cabarrus County <br />high school students. <br /> <br /> The Board by consensus indicated their approval of Mr. Clifton's <br />recommended RCCC budget and encouraged RCCC to proceed with the lease <br />agreement with the Town of Mt. Pleasant to establish the new operational <br />location. <br /> <br />Classification and Pay Study <br /> <br /> Mr. Don Moorhead reviewed the Classification and Pay Study and <br />recommended classifications as submitted by Municipal Advisors Incorporated. <br />He stated approximately 463 employees will be impacted positively and 11 <br />negatively. These employees include 303 part-time employees (Community Social <br />Service Assistants, Custodians, Library Pages and seasonal Parks and <br />Recreation employees) and 160 full-time employees. The recommended <br />reclassifications will increase the County's annual payroll by $370,000.00 or <br />$434,935.00 including benefits. <br /> <br /> There was discussion by the Board members both in support of and against <br />the classification study and the recommended changes. <br /> <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Mills and seconded by Commissioner <br />Carpenter to deny the salary and classification study recommendations. <br />Commissioners Mills and Carpenter voted for the motion and Chairman Casper and <br />Commissioner Niblock voted against the motion. <br /> <br />This issue will be discussed further at the meeting to be held on June <br /> <br />Ad ] ournment <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Casper, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 6:50 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
