<br />Home and Community Care Block Grant FY '98 Fundin~ Plan - Mr. Mike Murphy
<br />
<br /> Mr. Mike Murphy presented the proposed Home and Community Care Block Grant
<br />FY 1998 Funding Plan for the Department of Aging, Department of Social Services
<br />and the L.I.F.E. Center. The recommended funding was as follows: Block Grant
<br />Funding $407,368.00; Local Match $45,264.00; and USDA Reimbursement
<br />$35,814.00. It was noted that the County will provide $4,979.00 in matching
<br />funds for the L.I.F.E. Center, and the Center will pay the remaining $6,147.00.

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Carpenter, seconded by Chairman Casper and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the proposed FY 1998 Home and Community
<br />Care Block Grant Funding Plan as recommended by the Home and Community Care Block
<br />Grant Committee. The proposed Plan included the following block grant funding
<br />and required local match.

<br />of the Department of Aging as Lead Agency for HCCBG Funds

<br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Mills and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board designated the Cabarrus County Department of Aging
<br />as the Lead Agency for all Home and Community Care Block Grant (HCCBG) funds that
<br />are allocated to Cabarrus County. The designation was for a period of two years.
<br />
<br /> The appointment of the HCCBG Committee will be scheduled for the next Board
<br />meeting.
