34 <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS CONSENT <br /> <br />Resolution Authorizing the EXchange .of.' Equipment with the Cabarrus Memorial <br />Hospital <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with <br />Commissioners Mills, Niblock and Casper and Chairman Barnhart voting for, the <br />Board adopted the following resolution. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION <br /> AUTHORIZING THE EXCHANGE OF <br />PERSONAL PROPERTY BY PRIVATE NEGOTIATION <br />BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF CABARRUS AND <br />CABARRUS MEMORIAL HOSPITAL <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the County of Gabarrus has used defibrillator equipment <br /> that are no longer desired for use by the staff of the <br /> Emergency Medical Services Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Cabarrus has negotiated an exchange of <br /> said equipment with Cabarrus Memorial Hospital for new <br /> defibrillator equipment that will enhance efficiency and <br /> communication of data for the Emergency Medical Services <br /> Department; and <br />WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statute 160A-271 provides that <br /> the Board of Commissioners, after public notice of <br /> proposed exchange, may adopt a resolution authorizing <br /> the exchange of personal property by private <br /> negotiation; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners for the County of Gabarrus in <br /> its meeting on February 19, 1996 authorized the <br /> publication of notice for the proposed exchange of the <br /> defibrillators between the County of Cabarrus and <br /> Cabarrus Memorial Hospital; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Cabarrus in accordance with North Carolina <br /> General Statute 160A-271 published a notice in The <br /> Concord Tribune on February 23, 1996 relative to the <br /> proposed exchange of personal property by private <br /> negotiation between the County of Cabarrus and Cabarrus <br /> Memorial Hospital. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Cabarrus that said Board does hereby authorize the <br />exchange of the following personal property 'by private negotiation <br />between the County of Cabarrus and Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. <br /> County of Cabarrus <br /> - Eight (8) Lifepak 5 defibrillators; serial numbers <br /> 42393, 42434, 42912, 43788, 51080, 51081, 51478, 52527; <br /> valued at $20,000.00 ($2,500.00 each) <br /> Cabarrus Memorial Hospital <br /> - Eight (8) Lifepak 11 defibrillators and related <br /> equipment, valued at $127,863.00 ($15,982.88 each) <br />Adopted this 7th day of March, 1996. <br /> <br /> /s/ Jeffrey L, Barnhart <br /> Jeffrey L. Bonds, Clerk to the Board <br /> <br />Appointments Firemen's Relief Fund Trustees <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Niblock with <br />Commissioners Mills, Niblock and Casper and Chairman Barnhart voting for, the <br />Board appointed the following individuals as Firemen's Relief Fund Trustees as <br />recommended by their respective fire departments.
